cOMMANDMENTS
There is a whole lot more to the 'commandments than most people, especially typical Christians, realize.
We are to follow Christ, as taught by the apostles in the NEW TESTAMENT (Acts 2:42),
be a Berean (Acts 17:11), to learn what they taught.
Many Christians think they know what Christ commanded the church in the Great Commission, but in truth they minimize the command. They get the 'going part' right, but miss the central command to 'make disciples'.
In Matthew 28: 18-20, Jesus issues his command to the disciples, and thus to the entire church:
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and 'teaching them to 'obey everything' I have commanded you'.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

The 'popular' translation is not the 'real' translation of Exodus 20:7,
You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain,
for the Lord will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.
According to Strong's H5375 (H853) is that it relates to 'the demonstrative sense of entity (self)'... so the word 'TAKE' in this instance can only mean not to slander, curse, act immoral, be disobedient to God if you profess to be a Christian because... the word 'TAKE' means to call yourself a Christian, and bring shame on that name.
An example of this would be like when a couple marries and the wife
'takes' her husband's name and then humiliates him.
This is another good reason, as Jesus said, to count the costs of following Him.

Remember that in Matthew 28 Jesus issues His command to the disciples,
and thus to the entire church:
Then Jesus came to them and said,
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations...
We are to realize that not everyone we approach
to help them become, stay, return as disciples... will be open...
