You will see that we seldom leave commentaries on the videos we share... but... we just had to include a couple of thoughts on the previous videos and the related matter. This parable of the soils tells that only about 25% of those hearts that hear the Word of God will find root and and grow in strength and knowledge in Christ.
Now let's take a few more numbers... Jesus preached to 5000 and 4000, there were 70 disciples that were sent out to witness and 120 (including His famous 12) present in the upper room on the day of Pentecost. That total is 9190. When we divide the 9190 by the 120 we get 76.5833333, which is pretty close to the same ratio as above.
However... the next set of calculations break this 1 out of 4 ratio down even farther. Remember that there will be two in the field, one will be taken and the other left. Ten brides were waiting but five left, not returning before the bridegroom arrived. That makes me think that half of those that do follow after growing in good seed are not over-comers to the end of the race. Their salvation is lost, removed from the book of life.
That would bring the 1 out of 4 ratio down even farther, down to between 10% or 12%.
These numbers are easily found in the bible. No one wants to talk about them. The shaft is allowed to grow with the wheat until judgement. This verifies that the path to the Kingdom of God is very narrow.
Look around you... are you the one out of 10 believers that will make it to heaven?
WHEN THE SAME COMMANDS ARE FOUND IN BOTH TESTAMENTS, PAY VERY CLOSE ATTENTION!!!!
In the following verses we see that it is our duty to be ever vigilant in our walk with Christ:
2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you... unless, of course, you fail the test?
Galatians 6:4 Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else,
Lamentations 3:40 Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the LORD.
Finally...
Philippians 2:12 tells us... So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling!
No true Christian wants to die and hear the Lord say to them the words from Matthew 7:21-23:
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
